OBITUARY:
D.M. Snyder Rites Friday
Services for Durward M. Snyder, 70, of 819 Twenty-third Court, who died of pneumonia Tuesday at Veterans Hospital after a three-day illness, will be at 1:30 P.M. Friday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Canfield Cemetery.
Mr. Snyder, a retired maintenance employee of the Rock Island Lines, was born in Greeneville, Tennessee, and lived here 60 years. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Berean Assembly of God Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 738.
Surviving are two sons, Durward M., Jr. and Charles W.; three daughters, Mrs. Doris Tyler, Mrs. Bennie (sic) Hart, and Mrs. Ruth Waltz, and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Anderson, all of Des Moines; two brothers, Arthur of Des Moines, and Vea (sic) H. of Altoona, 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
