Funeral services will be tomorrow for Mrs. Betty e. Abel, 86, a resident of Easton for more than 60 years.
Mrs. Abel died yesterday, May 4, 1949, at 2:30 p.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Stella Thornburgh, 712 Seneca Street here.
Although her health had been failing for some time, she was seriously ill only the last week.
A native of Plattsburg, Mo., Mrs. Abel was born there July 28, 1862, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pike, early residents there.
She came as a young girl to Leavenworth, making her home here until her marriage April 29, 1891, to Joseph Abel.
They moved to Easton and lived on the same farm until his death April 21, 1935. Mrs. Abel moved to Leavenworth last July.
Besides Mrs. Thornburgh she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Minnie Behee, Atchison, and Mrs. Mary Lovelace, St. Joseph, Mo., and two sons, Rudo.ph and Joseph, both of Easton. Two other sons, Lester and John, have died.
Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Davis Funeral Church with Rev. John Hodge of the Easton Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be at about 3:30 in the family lot in the Easton Cemetery. The body is at the funeral church.
