DEATH CLAIMED MRS. ROBERT POPPETT
Mrs. Robert Poppett, age 53 years died at 11:15 o’clock Saturday night. She had been in feeble health for several years, a sufferer from rheumatism which attacked her heart with fatal results. A short time before her death she seemed in excellent spirits and the suddenness of the end was a great surprise to her family. The arrangements for the funeral have not been completed but services will be held from the family residence at 2 o’clock tomorrow and the interment will occur at the New City cemetery. Besides her husband Robert Poppett, a pioneer of the valley she leaves ten children the youngest of whom is 12 years of age.
Those of the children who reside in this city are Joh, Edward, Huly, Irene, Thurman and Leah poppet while George Poppett is a resident of Randsburg and the other sons Morison, Ira and Grover reside at San Jacinto.

Death of Mrs. Poppett
Death has made another breach in the ranks of the Pioneers of San Bernardino Valley.
Saturday night at 11:15 Mrs. Robert Poppett passed away at the family home on E street above base Line.
The decedent was born in Iowa, 53 years ago. When but two years of age, her parents joined the tide sweeping toward California and in that year they arrived here, where she has resided ever since, being in point of residence one of the oldest Pioneers of the valley.
The family immediately became identified with the new spirit of progress, which dawned with the coming of the white settlers, and since then have held a very high place in the community.
As a member of the Pioneer Society, Mrs. Poppett was at one time a leading spirit, but of late years, ill health had prevented her attendance at the meetings of that little band.
The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 o’clock. The decedent leaves a husband, Robert Poppett, and 10 children: John R., George W..; Edward; Joseph L.; M. F. and Ira and Mrs. W. E. Hitchcock, Mrs. Grover C. Allen and Mrs. T. Leah, besides two brothers and sisters, Col. and James Case and Mrs. E. Dodson and Mrs. Henry Dodson.

Those of the children who reside in this city are Joh, Edward, Huly, Irene, Thurman and Leah poppet while George Poppett is a resident of Randsburg and the other sons Morison, Ira and Grover reside at San Jacinto.

Death of Mrs. Poppett
Death has made another breach in the ranks of the Pioneers of San Bernardino Valley.
Saturday night at 11:15 Mrs. Robert Poppett passed away at the family home on E street above base Line.
The decedent was born in Iowa, 53 years ago. When but two years of age, her parents joined the tide sweeping toward California and in that year they arrived here, where she has resided ever since, being in point of residence one of the oldest Pioneers of the valley.
The family immediately became identified with the new spirit of progress, which dawned with the coming of the white settlers, and since then have held a very high place in the community.
As a member of the Pioneer Society, Mrs. Poppett was at one time a leading spirit, but of late years, ill health had prevented her attendance at the meetings of that little band.
The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 o’clock. The decedent leaves a husband, Robert Poppett, and 10 children: John R., George W..; Edward; Joseph L.; M. F. and Ira and Mrs. W. E. Hitchcock, Mrs. Grover C. Allen and Mrs. T. Leah, besides two brothers and sisters, Col. and James Case and Mrs. E. Dodson and Mrs. Henry Dodson.
