He was one of nine children and was baptized into the Holiness Church at Vaughn, Oklahoma in 1931 at the age of 23. He enjoyed leading the singing for the church.
In 1947 he purchased the homestead from his mother, making it his home, where he enjoyed working the farm until his death. He was a wonderful father to his four children and they will greatly miss his wisdom and understanding.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and 1 grandson.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Maxine Long and her husband James of Amarillo, Texas; Helen Attaway, Reydon, OK; Loretta Earle and her husband, Harold of Craig, Colo.; One son, Kenneth Lewis and his wife, Carol, of Craig, Colorado; One brother, Carl Lewis of Oklahoma City; 2 sisters, Dora Timmons of Mangum; Lucille Lenk of Oklahoma City; Eight grandaughters, 3 grandsons, 2 great granddaughters, 3 great grandsons and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Mr. Lewis were held Saturday, Dec. 5, 1981 at 2 p.m. in the Crawford High School Gym with A.L. Martin and Dewitt Hawkins officiating. Burial followed in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, OK.
Singers were Norman and June Widener; A.T. and Linnie Leddy; Pauline Pennington; Linda Reimer, Pianist was Jo Nell York.
Pallbearers were Bobby Manhart, Thoral Shaw, Johnnie Allen, Sylvester Churchill, Willis Malson and Coy Lacey.
Honorary Pallbearers were Johnny Shaw, Bill Hughes, M.H. Shaw, Fred Males, Clyde Earle, Rupert Earle, Bill Earle.
