Virgil Royce Lewis, Durham, died suddenly of a heart attack on Thursday, July 11, 1968.
Funeral services were held Saturday July 13, at 2:00 p.m. in the Crawford auditorium with Rev. Carl Blackburn, Altus, officiating.
Born February 28, 1901 in Buford, Ohio. Mr. Lewis came to Durham with his parents and married Lennie L. Veach in Sayre on February 24, 1931. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors are his wife of the home; one son, Ray of Baytown, Texas; one daughter, Estela Lee Baker of Midwest City; two brothers, Albert of Durham and Carl of Oklahoma city; three sisters, Georgia Cockrell, Durham, Dora Timmons, Gould, and Lucille Link, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Coy Lacey, Jessie , Otto Ator, Ray Cole, Austin Davis, and Carl Kendall.
Interment was in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son Funeral Home in charge.
