MARCELLUS - John Carl Buckhold, lifelong resident of the community, died at seven o'clock this morning in his home, 178 West North Street, after an illness of two weeks.

He was born Feb. 20, 1876 in Marcellus Township, the son of Carl and Sophia (Timm) Buckhold. He was a retired farmer and had been a Village Marshal for six years. He was married to Minnie Janing in 1902.

Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter and five sons; Mrs. Dorothy Sams, Leon, Howard, Raymond, Ralph and Dwight, all of Marcellus; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in the Romig Funeral Home with the Rev. E.F. Miller, officiating. Burial will be in the Marcellus Cemetery.
