Minnie Buckhold, age 82, died Saturday evening, February 22, 1964 at 11:45 p.m. in her home at 178 West North Street, Marcellus. Her death followed a short illness.
She was born June 16, 1881, near Cranberry Lake, southeast of Marcellus in Marcellus Township, the daughter of Frederick and Henrietta (Kasdorf) Janing. Mrs. Buckhold had lived in the Marcellus area all her life, except for 4 years spent in Cadillac. She had been a village resident for the past 40 years. Her husband, John C., preceded her in death on May 1, 1959.
Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Sams, at home; five sons, Leon, Howard, Raymond, Ralph and Dwight, all of Marcellus; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 25, at 2:00 p.m. in the Romig Funeral Home, Marcellus. Rev. Don Silvis, pastor of the Marcellus E.U.B. Church, officiating. Burial in Marcellus Cemetery.

Minnie made the best sugar cookies ever! As told by her grandson, Gerald, "Grandma would always call me when she made them and would have me stop by for a visit & have cookies with her & Grandpa!"
