James Allison

James L. Allison, 69, of 1027 Phoenix Ave., Chester, was found dead of natural causes Friday morning at his home. Mr. Allison was born Aug. 1, 1911, in Hookstown, Pa., the son of Robert Andrew and Vene Blanche Allison. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Chester. He retired in 1976 from Taylor, Smith and Taylor pottery where he was a kiln placer. Preceding him in death was his wife, Vita Allison. Survivors include a son, James L. Allison Jr. of New Cumberland; a daughter, Eleanor J. Monroe of Chester, a step - daughter, Barbara Tuell; a step - son, Bernard Tuell, four brothers, Clair Allison of Hookstown, Claude Allison of Chester, Wilbur Allison of Hookstown and Dwight Allison of Barberton; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Aten of Inverness, Fla., and Mrs. Virginia Allison of Lady Lake, Fla., nine grandchildren and 13 great - grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Arner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery in Hookstown. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Arner Chapel where the family will be present.
