James L. Allison, Jr., 70
New Cumberland - James L. Allison Jr., 70, of New Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at East Liverpool City Hospital after a long battle with heart disease. He was born Dec. 24, 1939, in Chester, a son of the late James Allison Sr. and Jane (Boyles) Fink. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Burr Fink Sr.; his stepmother, Vida Allison; a son, James L. Allison III; a grandson, Carl Edgell Jr.; a son-in-law, Carl Edgell Sr.; a great-granddaughter, Randa Ann Lang; and a great-grandson, Brad Keller. James retired from the WV Dept. of Highways after 33 years of service; was a member of the New Manchester VFD and was Protestant by faith. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann (Gill) Allison, at home; one daughter, "Bunny" Mary Lou Edgell (Bill) Bragg, New Manchester; two sons, David (Joyce) Allison, New Manchester, and Burr Fink Jr., Newell; two stepdaughters, Katie (Harry) Beaver, New Waterford, and JoAnn Danko Oxley, Weirton; sister, Eleanor Monroe of Chester; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Turley Funeral Home. Services will be there Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Craig Greathouse officiating. Interment will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
