Earl Allison

Services will be held Monday for Earl (Shorty) Eugene Allison, 79, of National Church Rd., Chester RD 1, who died at 9:10 p.m. Thursday at City Hospital following a three-week illness. A lifetime resident of the area, Mr. Allison was born March 31, 1900, in Hancock County, a son of the late Robert and Vene White Allison. He was a retired farmer, and had also worked for the American Sheet and Tin Plate Co. of Chester. He was last employed as an assistant to Jerry DeAngelo in his Chester shoe shop. Mr. Allison was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Chester. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Pugh Allison. Survivors include his wife, Garnet Sayre Allison, at home; two sons, Robert E. Allison of Coraopolis, Pa., and Jack E. Allison of Beaver, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Erla) DeAngelo of Chester; a stepson, Walter L. Trowbridge of Chester; a step-daughter, Sharon Clutter of Chester; six brothers, Wilbur and Clair Allison, both of Hookstown, Arthur Allison of Beaver, Pa., Jim and Claude Allison, both of Chester, and Dwight Allison of Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Aten of Inverness, Fla., and Mrs. Virginia e, Allison of Lady Lak Fla.; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. from the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester with the Rev. Jim McMasters officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapel Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday afternoon and evening where the family will be present from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
