Services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Jarrell Huffman and Rev. Jim Deal, both of Duncan. Burial was in Marlow Cemetery.
Grigsby was born January 9, 1892, in Oklahoma Indian Territory near Lexington. He was a resident of Marlow from 1931 to 1960, lived in Ardmore, Oklahoma for 13 years, and moved back to Marlow in 1973. He was a retired farmer and carpenter and attended the Baptist Church. He married Nellie Irene Price on August 17, 1912, in Gainesville, Texas. She died July 1, 1951. He married Esther Bellows on February 12, 1954, in Ardmore.
Survivors include his wife, Esther, of the home; four sons, Fielding L. Grigsby Sr. and William D. Grigsby, both of Duncan, Oklahoma, Louis Grigsby, Jr., Washington, D. C., and John Grigsby of Garrison, Texas; four daughters, Irene Prescott of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Lena Pruette of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Mona Coursey, Seattle, Washington, and Edith Cregger, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; one brother,
W. D. Grigsby, Nocona, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Serving as bearers were grandsons, Fielding Grigsby, Jr., Tony Grigsby, Charles Grigsby, Steve Pruette, Richard Hatch, and Douglas Hayes.
