Funeral service for Charlie Edwin Austin were held Dec. 31, at 3 p.m. at Kilmichael Methodist Church. Officiating were Rev. James Parker, Dan Beardain & Joe Dabbs.

Burial was in the Kilmichael cemetery, with Winona Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Austin died at Kilmichael Hospital, Dec. 30 after a extended illness. He was 78 years old. He was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church and the Kilmichael Masonic Lodge and was a native of Montgomery County.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Claudine Austin, Kilmichael; 4 children, James E. Austin, William H. Austin, Mrs. Guy Austin & Mrs. William Dismuke, all of Kilmichael; three brothers, Bryant Austin, Kilmichael; Ashley Austin, Stewart; & Noel Austin, West Point. Also five sisters, Mrs. Luther Crook, Moorehead; Mrs. Virginia Fultz, Memphis, Mrs. Mae Boothe, Stewart; Mrs. Elizabeth Corley, Magee & Mrs. Katie Ruth Irwin, Greenville. He had 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren

Pallbearers were Jimmy Eldridge, Bobby Lott, Jack Murphy, Toby Gant, Turner Beckum, Jr. and Horace Garrett.

Honorary pallbearers were E.L. Tindoll, Ernest Clark, Pearl Williams, Clyde Ray, Eugene Allen and Noel Williams.
