Nine children are also left to mourn the loss of a loving and patient mother all of whom were present at the bedside during her last hours. They are: Mrs. Lettice J. Axtell and William A. Axtell of Pepin, Wis., Mrs. Emma B. Longsdorf of Arkansaw, Wis., Mrs Nancy C. White, Mrs Martha Grieve, Misses Myrtle and Marion Carpenter of Plainview, Thomas Q., of Stockholm, Wis., and George L. of Washington, D.C. Mrs. John Bruce of Racine and Mrs Earl Proue of Arkansaw, granddaughters of the deceased, were also present at the bedside. Besides her immediate family, Mrs. Carpenter is mourned by 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the olf farm home at Stockholm, Wis., on January 19, where many friends of the deceased, who had known her for many years gathered to pay their last tribute to one who had been a kind neighbor and true friend
