On May 25, 1854 Alex and Amanda "Mandie" Copeland were married at Palestine, Anderson County, Texas. They had one daughter.
1--Manerva Jane [1855-1879]
After Mandie's death, Alex married Mrs. Bettie Garrett on February 4, 1886 in Coryell County, Texas. They had one son.

ANOTHER OLD SOLDIER GONE
A. McDaniel, the subject of this sketch, was born in Smith County, Mississippi, June 20, 1832, and died December 24, 1909, making his stay on earth 77 years, 6 months and 5 days. Moved from Mississippi to Freestone County, Texas in 1846, and resided in several counties in the state.
Was married to Miss Mandy Copeland, in Anderson County, Texas in 1853. His wife died in Robertson County, Texas, in 1884; he then married to Mrs.Bettie Garrett in Coryell County, Texas in 1886.
He was an old Confederate soldier; enlisted in the army at Crockett, Houston County, Texas, served four years under Captain Wartham, 31st Texas Cavalry, Company D, Gano Brigade
Price's division was in the battles at Camburn, Elkhorn, Pea Ridge, Saline, Cabin Cree, and several others too numerous to mention; disbanded at Richmond, Texas.
Alexander moved to Oklahoma in 1901 and spent his last days upon the earth near Frederick.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and had been for 35 years. He leaves a wife and a married son, three brothers and one sister and a host of relatives and friends.
His body was laid away in the Frederick Cemetery.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Betcher of Frederick.
Alexander was my Great Grand Uncle.
