Clark Trent Burrell, 83, passed away at his residence in Ridgeland Sept. 23,.2020. Trent was the thirteenth child born of Oliver (Peg) and Ada Lula McGiff Burrell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Neicy, who was the mother of his children; his wife Frances; and daughter, Karen Leigh Phelps.

He is survived by his son Clark Burrell Jr. of Ft. Pierce, Fl. and stepson Stan Moore of West Palm Beach , Fl. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Burrell was born in Attala County in Sallis, MS. He grew up in Holmes County and graduated from Durant High School in 1955, where he played sports, He also loved hunting and fishing. He played football at the University of Mississippi on a 4-year scholarship, where he graduated in 1959.

He worked 10 years at Mississippi Valley Gas Co. and 20 years on the road in sales. After being involved in sales, he was in private business for 10 years. Mr. Burrell was serving process at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Ridgeland First Baptist Church where he also was a Sunday School Teacher.

There will be a graveside service on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 3 P.M. at the Mizpah Cemetery in Durant with visitation from 1PM until service time at the First Baptist Church of Durant Fellowship Hall
