Onous John Wells Sr., 90, of 221 Tennessee Ave., a retired diesel mechanic, died of respiratory failure Friday at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Lakewood Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Wells was a Magee native. He was a deacon at Parkway Baptist Church, where he was active in the music department.
Survivors include: wife, Odie; sons, Onous J. Wells Jr. of Crystal Springs, W.G. Wells of Jackson and Marion Wells of Lascassas, Tenn.; daughter, Mariam Elizabeth Swindle of McComb; brothers, Otho Wells of Jackson, Zeno Wells of Gautier, H.D. Wells of of Winter Haven, Fla., and Glenn Wells of Laurel; sisters, Cleota Albritton of Oklahoma City, Roma Ree Pope of Clinton, Vera Gateway of Richland, Texas, and Mildred Weatherford of Baton Rouge; and 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
