Fremont, Utah - Our kind and beloved Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and friend, Vance Morrell Taylor, age 95, died March 13, 2011 at his home in Fremont, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 1, 1915 in Fremont, a son of David Alvin and Julia Anna Morrell Taylor.

He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1932. He served in the CC Camps. Vance married Winnie VaNeil Morley, January 5, 1938 in Loa, Utah. They were later divorced. He married Genevieve Joyce "Jenny" Compton Nielsen, February 19, 1968 in Richfield, Utah. She died September 9, 1999.

Vance was a member of the LDS Church and active in church affairs. He served as a Wayne County Commissioner and donated time and help to many different county activities.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, logging and spending time with his family and friends.

His children are: Gary (Deceased) and Penny Taylor of Salt Lake City; Sharon and Tim Anderson of Sigurd; Kelly J. and Nancy Taylor of St. George; Range Dean Nielsen of Golden Valley, Arizona; Lenard Kay (Pete) and Lyn Nielsen of West Jordan; Dana Jo and Grant Ferre of Lindon; Jackie Dean Hedtke of Missoula, Montana; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters: Alvin G. Taylor; Evan MerildTaylor; Don EmilTaylor; Myrle Taylor, DeIla Chappell and Anna Dean Baker.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Fremont LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.

At his request, his remains have been cremated and burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 645 East 400 South in Salt Lake City, Utah 84102.
