A native of Lincoln County, he was a retired paper mill engineer and veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late Mr. John Smith and Mary Frazier Harris. His wife, Ella Mae Harris, proceeded [preceded] him in death on March 22, 1976.
He [is] survived by four brothers, Luther and Melvin Harris, both of Waynesburg, Lloyd Harris of Assumption, Ind., and Kelley [Kelly] Harris of Madison, Tenn.; four sisters, Madoline Dishon of Danville, Sally Brown of Stanford, Melavee Saylor or Waynesburg, and Elizabeth Harris of Taylorsville, Ill.
Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Beazley-Raney-Speaks Funeral Home with Bro. Virgil Horseman officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
