Glade F. Clark Obituary

Glade Ford Clark, 89, died May 23, 2002 in American Fork.

He was born June 15, 1912 in Alpine to George Ernest and Belle Wilkin Clark. He married Betty Jane Wiscomb May 28, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died June 7, 2001.

Glade played on high school and church basketball teams, and enjoy-ed coaching adult and youth basketball teams for many years. Also, he assisted with youth baseball programs and was recently honored by throwing out the first pitch for the Alpine Youth Baseball program.

In addition, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping; and was an avid fan of the BYU Cougars, the American Fork Cavemen and the Lone Peak Knights. He worked at Geneva Steel as an Electrician, retiring after 27 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force from 1941-46.

Glade and Betty served a mission in Portland, Oregon in 1977 to 1979. He was an ordinance worker in the Provo LDS Temple for 10 years.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Glade (Nancy) Clark, Lehi, Brian Grant (Marjorie) Clark, Casper, WY; five grandchildren, Lisa, John, Samuel, Caroline, Mary; eight brothers and sisters, Lloyd Clark, Mildred Bair, Norma Healey, Fern White, Virgie Carroll, Dorothy Tucker, Vern Clark, Lucille Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, George; sister Thurza; daughter, Jane; and a stillborn son.

Services will be Wed. May 29, 11 a.m., Alpine 7th Ward chapel, 1125 N. Alpine Blvd. Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m., Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N, American Fork, and Wed. at the church 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, Alpine Cemetery. Military Rites by VFW, District 4 Honor Guard.
