Thurza Clark Strong, 89, died November 1, 1996, in Murray, Utah.
Born July 19, 1907, to George Ernest and Belle Wilkin Clark in Alpine, Utah, the oldest of 11 children. Married Leon J. Strong January 27, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 1, 1988. Thurza was a lovely gracious lady whose life was filled with service to her family and her Church.
She was active in the LDS Church, having served 45 years in the MIA, was a member of the Tabernacle Choir, served in many teaching positions, and as a Temple Worker. She worked many years as a secretary at ZCMI.
She loved her family and took great pride in the accomplishments of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses; Lois and Glenn Snyder, Lenore and LaMar Nagle, Clark and Carolyn Strong, all of Salt Lake; 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. Also survived by three brothers and six sisters; Lloyd Clark, Glade Clark, Vern Clark, Mildred Bair, Norma Healey, Ferne White, Virgie Carroll, Dorothy Sorensen, and Lucille Roberts. Preceded in death by husband Leon J. Strong and brother George Clark.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996 at 11 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, UT. Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial, Alpine, Utah City Cemetery.
