At age 5, the younger Joseph George attended the St John the Evangelist National School. At age 6, he was baptized at St James Clerkenwell with his sister Helena Maud. When he was 8, the family traveled from London to New York, and settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
At 21, the younger Joseph George married Daisy Hackett, and worked as a brass stamp engraver. Together, they had 2 sons -- Joseph George and John Hackett, and a daughter Frances.
Joseph lived 82 years, outlived his wife and son Joseph, and retired from the brass business. He last resided at 157 N 5th Street and died at Hahnemann Hospital from arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
