William was the tenth of twelve children born to Joseph George Sperry and his wife Emma Wilkinson. He worked as an engraver and lived at North Seventh Street from 1909 through 1912 and at 2235 North Franklin from 1917 through 1921.
In April 2014, William C Sperry married Alice Stone in the church parsonage. In 1930 William worked as an engraver in jewelry stores, and the couple lived at 2746 North Eleventh Street. In 1940 William worked as an engraver of mechanical instruments, and the couple lived at 2748 North Eleventh Street.
William lived 60 years and collapsed on the sidewalk at 13th and Market. Taken to Hahnemann Hospital, he died 2 days later. William was buried 28 Oct 1946 in Hillside Cemetery, joining his parents.
