The death of Mrs. Mary Ann Simon, aged almost seventy-nine years and a resident of Butler township since 1872, took place Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at her home seven miles southwest of Garrett. She was afflicted with paralysis for nine years.
Mrs. Simon was born in Wyandotte county, O., November 10, 1845, and she and Joseph Simon were married December 31, 1872. Since the latter date she his made her home in Butler township. Mr. Simon died in 1908.
Surviving are four children, Ellis Simon of Bloomingdale, Mich., Mrs. Harvey Guthrie, Frank Simon and Mrs. Jennie Barnes of Butler township, Mrs. Barnes made her home with her mother.
Surviving also are seven grandchildren :and one great grandchild; three brothers, Moses Yarian and John Yarian of Swan township, Noble county, and Rheuben Yarian of Linesdale, Pa. These brothers are the only members remaining of a family of nine sons and three daughters.
Mrs. Simon was a member of the Lutheran church at LaOtto. Funeral services will be held there Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock. the Rev. Wallace officiating, and burial will be made in Cedar Chapel cemetery.
