Well, she is buried exactly one step to the left of Ralph. His marker is old so he's been here a while. Her marker is new even though it was a 1919 burial. There is reference in the note to a couple of family members removing the marker and taking it by truck to have it sandblasted. It looks really new. If they removed it, they would have seen Ralph's right?
Confusion aside, here is the family tree as I have researched it (incomplete, having just found them here unexpectedly!!)
Ralph was a grandson of Elizabeth Ann McKee South (#103814778) and John Jackson South (#103814745).
The paternal grandparents were: James H South, 09 Jan 1819 Laurens County, SC -10 Oct 1910 (10-10-10) Franklin County, GA (my 1st cousin 5x removed) and Nancy Mylisie Norwood South, 10 Jan 1829, Laurens County, SC - 05 Dec 1902 Franklin County, GA. They are both buried in the South (Family) Cemetery in Carnesville, Franklin Co., GA. I did not find this cemetery while there, it was at one time on private land and had 20 graves but mostly without markers.
Paternal Great Grandparents of Ralph Andrews was my 5th great uncle: Daniel South, 1786 Bedford Co., VA - 1876 Laurens Co., SC, and Margaret Elizabeth Leake, b. 1789, he's buried in the Poplar Springs Church Cemetery, Ware Shoals, Laurens Co., SC Memorial #8286943. She is believed to be buried there as well but the marker is not present anymore, just a pile of rocks in the approximate place.
Paternal GG Grandparents of Ralph: William South, b. 1760 Berkley Co., VA; d. 1844 Laurens Co., SC (my 5th great grandfather) and Catherine "Katy" Daniel South, b. 1765 Essex Co., VA - d. 06 Oct 1857 in Laurens County, SC buried as Catherine Daniel South beside her husband in the Poplar Springs Church Cemetery, Ware Shoals, Laurens Co., SC. William #8286945; Catherine #8286944.
Will stop here for now since he was an infant.
