Mrs. Helen Turpin
Mrs. Helen Joyce Andrews Turpin, 35, of Tucker, formerly of Toccoa and wife of Mr. Russell Turpin, died at her residence Friday afternoon, Feb. 12. The daughter of Mrs. Nezzie Verner Andrews of Toccoa and the late Mr. J. L. Andrews, she was born Aug. 21, 1936 in Toccoa and lived here for many years, having moved to Tucker to make her home some seven year ago.
Mrs. Turpin was a graduate of Eastanollee High School and later was affiliated with both LeTourneau Westinghouse and General Telephone Company. She was a member of the Clover Baptist Church of Norcross and a teacher in the Sunday School there.
Besides her mother and husband, survivors include two daughters, Andrewa and Lori Turpin of the residence; three brothers, Edward Andrews, Clarence Andrews of Toccoa, Jack Andrews of Morganton, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. James Caldwell, Mrs. Windell Ansley, Mrs. Everitt Cox, all of Toccoa; two half brothers, Grant Andrews of Lexington, and Boyd Andrews of Arnoldsville, Ga.; three half sisters, Mrs. W. R. Appling of Lexington, Mrs. Dan Turner of Lexington, Mrs. Mike Hammock of Lincolnton; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Louetta Bell Turpin of Toccoa.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 4 p.m. from the Sunnyside Baptist Church in Toccoa with Rev. Roy L. Head and Rev. Melvin H. Timms officiating. Pallbearers were Larry Ansley, Ray McCall, Vernon Turpin, Warren Wilkinson, Bill Hunt and Richard Turpin. Interment was in Stephens Memorial Gardens with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
