Shirley is the daughter of Ernest Austin & Mayme Strayer, granddaughter of Cyrus "Henry" & Margaret Ellen (Niceschwander) Strayer, great granddaughter of Miley & Elmira Strayer and great great granddaughter of Martin & Rachel (Ralya) Strayer.
Shirley was married to Ray Elwood on May 25, 1949 and later divorced. She later married Benjamin "Earl" Havins July 4, 1970.
Surviors include her husband, Earl; two daughters, Pearl Grundle and Linnie Fowler; three sons, Jim Havins, Mark & Chris Hitesman; a sister Lila Herbert; two brothers, Harold & Archie Strayer; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern, Glendale. Maryvale Chapel and Mortuary made arrangments.

Pearl Grundle, Linnie Fowler and Jim Havins are the children of Lorene Chadwell. I do not know why Shirley's obituary listed them as children and not step-children.

Shirley and Ray had four boys David, Daniel, Mark and Chris. David and Daniel were adopted by the BucK family and Mark and Chris were adopted by the Hitesman family.
