Edward J. Barry, 61 2008 Louis St., father of Patrolman Robert C. Barry and brother of Fire Chief Leo F. Barry, died Sept 4, 1950 in St.Elizabeth Hospital after a one week illness.

Mr. Barry was born Sept. 2, 1889 in Holland Patent , a son of the late Thomas and Mary Lynch Barry. The family came to Utica when he was a child and had lived here since. In 1908 in St. Agnes Church, he married Vera Dignan. She died in 1933. Mr Barry was employed by Foster Brothers Manufacturing Company for 25 years but for the last five years had worked for the Keller Electric Company. He was a memeber of St. Agnes Church and its Holy Name Society and Men`s Club.

Mr. Barry was preceaded in death by his son Edward J Barry Jr. He leaves two sons, Patrolman Robert Barry and James F. Barry, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews all of Utica.

Funeral will be Thursday morning at 9 from Quinn and Ryan Funeral Chapel,800 John and at 9:30 from St. Agnes Church where a solemn requium high Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
