Wayne R. Steiner, 86, of St. Joseph, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 15, 2017, at his home with his family by his side in St. Joseph.
He was born May 20, 1931 in Amity, Missouri, to Ernest and Jennie (Hlavac) Steiner, one of 11 children. He married Shirley Deason in Albany, Missouri, on May 27, 1955, sharing 62 years of marriage and she survives of the home.
Wayne left home at a young age to live with and work for Donald Spiking family in King City, Missouri, until he left to serve in the Korean War. Sgt. Wayne Steiner received the Bronze star for Valor.
Served in US Army in Korean conflict as a Sergeant.
Wayne loved his family and they always came first. He enjoyed, playing cards, fishing with his son, restoring old clocks, classical music, and he liked to build anything. Wayne retired from Armours in his early fiftys. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Savannah, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife; son, Mark (Lisa) Steiner; two daughters, Connie (Gerald) Washburn of Sierra Madre, California, Serena Steiner of Valley Village, California; two brothers, Bill Steiner of Torrance, California and Franklin (Lois) Steiner of Phoenix, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation to be held from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, at First Baptist Church Savannah.
Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, at First Baptist Church Savannah.
Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Albany.
