1927-2013

AMITY, Mo. - James Everett Steiner, age 85, was born March 9, 1927, the son of Ernest and Jennie Steiner and passed away January 8, 2013, at his home in Amity.

James farmed all of his life.

He served in WWII in the Philippines for 17 months and was honorably discharged from the US Navy.

He was of the Christian faith and is now in his eternal home.

James married Georgia Rose Hunsucker on February 26, 1949. Wedding was held at the Moorehead home in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri.

To this union, five children were born.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia of the home; one daughter, Kathleen Jones of Kansas City, Mo., and four sons, Roger (Susan) Steiner, Cameron, Mo., Randy (Dorothy) Steiner, Amity, Stephen (Terry) Steiner, Warsaw, Mo., and Todd (Cherisse) Steiner of Amity.

Other survivors include one sister, Evelyn Ripper of St. Joseph; brothers, Charles Steiner, Independence, Mo., Bill Steiner, Carson, Calif., Wayne (Shirley) Steiner, St. Joseph, and Franklin (Lois) Steiner of Forsythe, Mo.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Marjorie Heitz, Lorraine Zoubek, and Mary Ann Steiner; two brothers, Francis and Alfred Steiner and one granddaughter, Ashley (Steiner) Murray FAG#103123450. His granddaughter was buried the day that Everett died.

James was a devoted husband, father and grandfather to his 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, at Bram-Turner Funeral Home of Maysville, Mo., with burial at Winslow Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.
