Funeral services were held at the White River Association building by Rev's Larry Leon Boyd and Bob Francis officiating on December 17, 1981.
Newt was a life long resident of Christian and Taney County. Newt was ordained september 14, 1977 to preach the full gospel of Christ our Lord. Newt was a member of the General Baptist Church of Taneyville.
Newt was united in marriage to Fairy Fletcher August 18, 1934.
Newt was a World War II U. S. Army Veteran having won the National Defense Award, Army of Occupation medal in Japan and the Good Conduct Medal.
Newt is survived by his wife Fairy of the home, four sons: Tom of Forsyth, Jeral of Elkland, Ronnie of Hollister, Dwight of Branson; three daughters: Helen Everett, Forsyth, Ruby Melton, Ozark, Sharon Wyman, Taneyville; three brothers; George, Pete, Topeka, Kansas, Elsie, Bud, of Sacramento, California, John, Springfield; six sisters: Violet Spradling and Grace Bilyue both of Chadwick,Lucille Walker, Strafford, Vivian Fletcher, Cape Fair, Mary Ingenthron, Forsyth, Pearl Hampton, Port Angela Washington; seventeen grand-children and 7 great-grand-children, and a host of relatives and friends.
