FRIENDSVILLE – Lawrencee Ernest Selby, 71, of Star Route Box 98, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 1988, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Feb 9, 1917, in Selbysport, he was the son f he late Nathan and Lizzie (Humberson) Selby.
Mr. Selby was a retired truck driver for the Matlack Company. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Friendsville United Methodist Church and Friendsville Post 8769, Veteran of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his widow, Esta B. (Wright) Selby; five brothers, Ross Selby, Richard Selby, and Claude Selby, all of Friendsville; and Fred Selby and Robert Selby, both of Baltimore; two sisters, Fern Lininger, Friendsville; and Dorothy Watson, Mountain Lake Park.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville.
Services will be conducted there Thursday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. John Boda.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by area veterans' organizations.
