FRIENDSVILLE – N. Ross Selby, 89, Friendsville, passed away on May 8, 2005, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Granstsville.
Born October 1, 1915, in Selbysport, he was the son of the late Nathan Ernest and Lizzie (Humberson) Selby. He was also preceded in death by his wife Pauline Elizabeth (Fike) Selby.
Ross was a truck driver for 40 years and he also worked for First United Bank and Trust as a courier and retired after 18 years. He was a charter member and Paul Harris Fellow with the Friendsville Rotary Club, charter member of the Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department and also a member of the Republican Central Committee.
Surviving are one son, Ross J. Selby, Crofton; two daughters, Helen P. Rush, Gary, Ind, and Patty L. Fike, The Villages, Fla.; two brothers, Claude Sleby, Friendsville and Robert Selby; Baltimore; one sister, Fern Lininger, Friendsville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, May 13, 2005, at Friendsville United Methodist Church at 11 a.m., with the Pastor Phil Dukes officiating. Interment will be held in Steele Cemetery, Friendsville. (Courtesy of Ronn E. Friend)
