DUNDALK – Robert V. Selby, 70, of Dundalk, died Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore.
Born September 24, 1934, in Sebysport, he was the son of the Ernest and Lizzie (Humberson) Selby. He was preceded in death by one son, Robert.
Mr. Selby was a member of Dundalk United Methodist Church, where he served as a board member, volunteered as grass mower, plowing snow and maintenance work and for over 20 years, he and his family set up the nativity scene. He was active in Boy Scouts as a Cub Scout leader and committeeman and enjoyed camping, gardening, woodworking, hunting and doing projects for his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Bessie (Capel) Selby, one son, David Selby, Edgewater; two daughters, Susan Hinkle, Dundalk, and Carol Selby-Allen, Glen Burnie; one brother, Claude Selby and one sister Fern Lininger, both of Friendsville; and four grandchildren, Nathan Allen, Shannon Hinkle, John Robert Allen and Richard Allen.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Selbysport United Methodist Church with Pastor Sarah Snyder officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
