William Thomas "Tom" Rushing, 73, of Calmer (Cleveland County), Arkansas, a retired Carman from Cotton Belt Railroad and a farmer, died Monday May 26, 1986 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Mr. Rushing was a Baptist, a member of the Brotherhood of Carmen of American and served as Justice of Peace for Miller Township, Cleveland County, for a number of years.

Mr. Rushing was the son of the late William Andrew Rushing and late Emma Rhodes Rushing.

Mr. Rushing was born at Leola, Grant County, Arkansas.

Mr. Rushing was preceded in death my his parents, a sister Ollie G. Rushing Price, a brother, Jack Rushing, a Son James Edward Rushing, two grandchildren, Janeace Rushing and Carl Lynn Rushing.

Survivors are his wife whom he married September 1, 1934, Lillian Elizabeth Owen Rushing, Three Sons, Ira Van Owen of Pine Bluff, AR, and Owen Thomas Rushing and David Wayne Rushing of Calmer Community; Three Daughters, Thelma Lee Rushing Morris of Woodlawn, Barbara Ann Rushing Patrick and Linda Beatrice Rushing Newman both of Calmer. Five brothers, Neely (Elick) Rushing and Henry D. Rushing both of Kingsland, AR, Tellas (Dick) Rushing of Sheridan, A. B. Rushing of Fordyce, A. J. Rushing of Pine Bluff, a sister Rachel Rushing Shelby of Monroe, La., Twelve grandchildren and a great-grand child.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Wednesday, May 28, 1986 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at Woodlawn. by the Revs. Frank Glover, Joe Wehunt, Ricky McNeil and James Morris.

Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery at Woodlawn by Buie's Funeral Home of Rison.
