Obituary: The Miller County Autogram, Thursday, May 19, 1927

Mary A, (Burks) Livingston was born May 11, 1871, six miles northwest of Iberia, Miller County, Mo., and died May 8, 1927. She was married to Richard M. Livingston January 21, 1891, and to this union were born eight children, all of whom are living. They are Mrs. Guy A. Barr, York, Nebr., Roy Livingston, York, Nebr., Mrs. G.A. Berry, St. Anthony, Mo., Robert L. Livingston, Cuba, Mo., Mrs. Frank Mace, St. Louis, Mrs. Lewis V. Woody, St. Louis, and Wm. and Stanley Livingston, at home.

Mary A. Livingston united with the Methodist Church when about 17 years of age and lived a devoted Christian life until the end, and in her
last hours her trust was in the Lord.

During her life time, she made a host of friends numbered by her acquaintances. She leaves to mourn her death, a husband, four sons, four
daughters, fourteen grandchildren and one brother, Samuel I. Burks, of Iberia. Her parents and two brothers preceded her to the Great Beyond.

She was always a faithful and industrious mother, true to her home and family. Health began failing her about a year ago, the major cause being goiter. In spite of the loving care of relatives and her many friends, everything to help her seemed in vain from the very beginning. Her
Master made the call and she answered. God knows best.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.A. McNatt at the Fairview Christian Church amidst a host of sorrowing relatives and friends.
The remains were laid to rest in the Livingston Cemetery to await the resurrection call when we all hope to meet again.
