Mabel Davis, Lifelong Napa Resident, Dies
Mrs. Mabel Emily Davis, 81, life-long Napa resident and member of a pioneer California family, died yesterday in a local rest home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Davis' parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Chalmers. Her father was superintendent of parks for the City of Napa for many years and laid out Fuller Park.
Born in Napa, she attended local schools. Her husband was the late Will Davis, and she was the mother of Allyn Davis of Napa and the late Mrs. Frances Benton; the grandmother of Phyllis Davis of Napa and Jean Benton of Porterville; and the sister of Alfred Chalmers of Mendocino City and Mrs. Fred Barnewitz of Vallejo.
The family home is at 2620 Pine St.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Treadway and Wigger Garden Chapel. Interment will be at Tulocay Cemetery.
