DEATH OF MRS.
ELIZABETH ASHMORE

Mrs. Elizabeth Ashmore died at her home in Cayuga at 10 o'clock Monday night, February 25, after an illness of about two weeks, and which started in a severe attack of the grip. Her husband, Robert Alexander Ashmore, died October 17, 1903. Of the children born to them, seven are living, five daughters and two sons. The daughters are Misses Bertha, Emma and Addie Ashmore, Mrs. Lillian Tarrant of Catlin, Illinois and Mrs. Rose Sollars of Brocton, Illinois. The surviving sons are James Ashmore of Cayuga, and Wesley Ashmore of Brocton, Illinois. There are four sisters, Mrs. Howard Moore of Georgetown; Mrs. Robert A. Hart of Newport; Mrs. Jane Hess of Georgetown, and Mrs. Nancy Huffman who lives in Missouri; and three brothers, Spencer Clifton of Cayuga; Jacob Clifton of Georgetown and Andrew Clifton who resides in the state of Washington.
The deceased was born February 24, 1851 to William and Jane (Brown) Clifton, and was just one day past 56 years of age at her death. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, a brief service being conducted in the home by Rev. Pearce. The remains were then conveyed to Yankee Point cemetery, 9 miles west of here, and laid to rest beside those of her husband.
