Harold King Record was born February 20, 1898 in Kingsville, Kentucky to Benajah Julius Record and Leaner Quimby.

When he was four years of age the family moved to Deweyville, Box Elder County. He received his early schooling there and graduated from high school in Brigham City.

A veteran of World War I, he served in the U.S. Army for four years and was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars.

On June 28, 1922, he married Eunice Ellen "Ella" Curtis in the Salt Lake Temple. They were later divorced. In 1945, he married Martha Ehlers in Salt Lake City.

From 1922 until 1923, he resided at 517 East First Avenue (50 North) in The Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City. From 1924 until 1925, he resided at 521 East Hollywood Avenue (1965 South) in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City. From 1926 until 1927, he resided at 100 West 200 North in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Salt Lake City. From 1927 until 1930, he resided at 822 South Lake Street (750 East) in the Downtown district of Salt Lake City. From 1931 until 1940, he resided at 3116 South 1000 East in Millcreek. In 1941, he resided at 2564 South 700 East in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City. From 1942 until 1945, he resided at 168 East Cleveland Avenue (1440 South) in the Central City neighborhood of Salt Lake City.

Harold joined the Salt Lake City Police Department from March 1924. In 1944, he retired after twenty years of service. At the time of his retirement, he held the rank of Detective. He was the head of the morals squad in 1934 and 1936.

In 1945, he moved to Pittsburg, California, where he resided until moving to Fort Smith, Arkansas eighteen months before his death. After moving to Arkansas, he operated a cattle ranch near Fort Smith.

Harold passed away on Saturday, December 22, 1951 in a Little Rock, Arkansas Hospital after a lingering illness.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, December 29, 1951 at 2:00 p.m. in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel located at 260 East South Temple Street in Salt Lake City. Calling hours were held on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday prior to the services.
Harold was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services in the Salt Lake City Cemetery in The Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City.
