She grew up in Salt Lake City, and was a lifelong resident of the Salt Lake Valley. She married Gordon Hooper. He died in 1980. They had two children and three grandchildren.
Helen passed away on Monday, February 17, 1997 at her home after a brave battle with cancer. She resided at 7295 South 1950 East in Cottonwood Heights, Utah at the time of her death.
Graveside Services were held on Friday, February 21, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mount Olivet Cemetery located at 1342 East 500 South in Salt Lake City, where Helen's ashes were interred.
