He was a son of the late Lorenzo Johnny and Nellie Godwin Cox.
Mr. Cox served in the S.C. National Guard and was retired from the Coleman Co. He was a member of the Kingstree Church of God.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Louise Floyd Cox; three sons, Wesley Lynn Cox, Kevin Trent Cox and Kenneth Wayne Burrows, all of Kingstree; two daughters, Kathy Louise Tisdale and Edith Susan McElveen, both of Kingstree; three sisters, Hattie Cantley, Lucille Player and Maggie Cribb, all of Andrews; two brothers, Shorty Cox and Wayne Cox, both of Andrews; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Lorenzo Cox and Ralph Cox.
