Pack 'Marshall' Bell, age 77, of Malakoff, Texas died May 7, 1988, at an Athens, Texas hospital after a lengthy illness. Burial at Bell Cemetery south of Palestine was under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home, Palestine. He was born September 15, 1910, in Loco, Oklahoma, to J. and Mary Alice Conaway Bell. He was a former resident of Palestine and Cayuga and had lived in Texas all his life. He was retired from Tidewater Oil Co. and had been the foreman at the Cayuga gasoline plant. He graduated from Palestine High School and was Palestine's first All-State high school football player. He was a member of the Jackson Baptist Church in Cayuga. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Kathleen Bell. He was survived by his wife, Claudia Mathews Bell of Malakoff; daughter, Marsha Lynn Bell Johnson of Cayuga; sister, Flossie Eilenberger of Palestine; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
