Charles Plate, 94, a resident of Burbank, California, a number of years, and formerly of Ipava, died at 5:30 pm Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank.
Services will be at 11 am Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava, the Rev. Earl Moore officiating. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning until the hour of services.
Mr. Plate was born July 22, 1886 in Pleasant Twp., near Ipava, the son of Henry and Mary Plate. He was a retired area farmer. He married Lena Kelly on Nov. 11, 1909. She died July 22, 1961.
Surviving are two sons, Lloyd of Vermont and Harold of Ipava; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Baldwin of Burbank and Mrs. Dorothy Wisdom of Missoula, Montana.; five grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and several half brothers and sisters.
