Mrs. Lydia R. McElroy

Mrs. Lydia Rosalie McElroy, 84, 1310 "A", died this morning in St. Catherine Hospital following a five month illness.

Born June 5, 1883, in Reno County, she was married to Melvin Willis McElroy Dec. 26, 1900, in Lyons. She moved to Derrfield in 1925 from Sylvia, and in 1928 to Garden City. Mr. McElroy died Jan. 7, 1959.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Violet Smith, 1310 "A", Mrs. Dorothy Armstrong, Drayton Valley, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Connie Donaldson, Englewood, Colo.; five sons, Albert, Richmond, Calif., William, 123 W. Hazel, Glen, Asbury, Mo., Harold, Sugar Creek, Mo., and Clarence, Perryton,Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Essley and Mrs. Emma Coleman, both of Sylvia; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Phillips-White Funeral Home
