Lamar---Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 27th, at St Mary's Catholic Church for Glenn M McElroy, 89, Lamar who died at 4:50 a.m. Saturday at Barton County Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Father Thomas Allen officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Lohmeyer Konantz Funeral Home, Lamar. Memorial donations may be made to the Kale Walters Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, . . . ; four sons, . . . ; three daughters, . . . ; 42 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. McElroy was born October 21st, 1906, in Sylvia, Ks. to Melvin Glenn and Lydia (Yust) McElroy. He had been a resident of Barton county since 1966. He was a farmer and a coal miner with P & M Coal Company in southeastern Kansas. He was a member of the Mine Workers Union and St. Mary's Catholic Church. . . .
