Pirson Silas Rice was a son of Cornelius Isaiah (Isaac, Ike) Rice and Mary Frances Shankle Rice of Mountaindale and was the husband of Lillie May Hahn Rice.

Pirson purchased what was once the "Home Farm" of the John Devilbiss 794 acre tract of land called "Case Of Necessity". Pirson had purchased the farm from Roy Joshua Rice, now a 130 acre farm. Pirson, much like his father dealt in real estate, buying and selling small properties.

Pirson did some mill work and worked for the State Of Maryland Fish And Game, at the Fish Hatchery location. The State had purchased the property from Norman Ramsburg for the Bass and Trout farm at Fish Hatchery.

Pirson was the father of George E. Rice who died in WW II, Hazel E. Deyton, Olivia Ann Heir, Nelson Silas Rice, Dorothy Mae Owens, Betty Irene Deyton, Rachel Frances "Butch" Wastler and a son that predeceased him, Harold C. Rice.

Pirson was a brother of the following siblings, Annie Sophie Eyler, Rueyann "Ruie" Pearl, Keefer Cornelius Rice, Leavie Ilgia Whipp, "Jennie" Irene Wachter, Grace Elizabeth Eaton, Sadie Catherine Shankle, Eli Edward Rice and Susie Frances Hewitt, and Predeceased by Franklin "Elmer" Rice, Rosa B. Rice and a unknown infant.
