Died at age 68 in Boll Nursing Home. Was born in Princeville Jan. 24, 1887, a son of George and Bettie Eaton Smith. He was last employed in a powder mill in Peoria in 1918. He was first married to Margaret Fail. Later married Ida Belle Winner.
Survivors: three sons, Fred Smith of Lincoln, Walter Smith of Secor and Everett Smith of Quincy and two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Donohue of Secor and Mrs. Milda Bakas of Peoria, two stepsons, Arthur Snow of Dallas, Tex., and Edward Cochran of Quincy, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Hazel Wessel and Mrs. Grace Brandon of Quincy and a sister, Mrs. Rose Ellen Sandoz of El Paso. Preceding him in death were a stepson, George, six brothers and six sisters. Burial in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry.
