SENECA – Viola Marjorie Tims Harvey, 70, Seneca, died May 4, 2001 in a Topeka hospital.
She was born September 5, 1930 in the Neuchatel community southwest of Centralia, to John Thomas and Ruth Summerville Edman, and she attended the Neuchatel school. She lived in Centralia for 31 years before she moved to Seneca about five years ago,
She attended New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca.
She married Herman Louis "Buck" Tims on April 4, 1952. He died April 19, 1999. A daughter Betty Jean Scott died in December 1993. A grandson Patrick Wayne Tims died in 1992.
Survivors include three sons Stephen Wayne Tims, Circleville, Thomas Clayton Tims, Covington, LA, and Herman “LeRoy” Tims, Seneca; a daughter Janet Lee Scott, Centralia; two brothers Andrew Edman, Onaga, and William Edman, Lawrence; six sisters Golda Dillman and Gladys Edman both of Topeka, Opal Noland, Hoyt, Valorie Brown, Wichita, Florence Ascheman Blue Rapids, and Peggy Eisenbarth, Seneca; and eight Grandchildren. Services will be at 2 PM Wednesday at Popkess Mortuary in Seneca, burial will be in the Centralia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 PM Tuesday at the Mortuary.
