RICHARD WILLIAM MELLOTT, 84, of Beaver Creek Road, Hagerstown, died Monday, Aug 6, at Washington County Hospital.

Born in Downsville, he was the son of the late Lemuel and Sarah Litton Mellott.

His wife, Virginia Harshman Mellott; one daughter, Kathryn D Herridge and one son, William L Mellott, all preceded him in death.

He was a farmer and retired from the Newman Farm Supply Co. of Smithsburg.

He is survived by three daughters, Ella Jane Henneberger, Paramount; Louise Turner and Dorothy Ferguson, both of Beaver Creek; threes sons, John Robert Mellott, Huyetts Crossroads; Charles l Mellott, Winchester, Va; and Dale E Mellott, Clear Spring; 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Services Thursday at 2 pm at Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro with the Rev Glenn Garner officiating. Burial in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
