PHOEBE CATHERINE MELLOTT, 65, died at 8:15 am Wednesday at Coffman Home for the Aging.


She was a daughter of the late Lemuel and Sarah (Litton) Mellott, of the Downsville District.


She as a member of St. James Church of the Brethren. She was a practical nurse, and began the nursing home on Guilford Ave. and Boonsboro. She operated the nursing home at her residence on North Avenue for a number of years.


Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Amos Shank, Hagerstown; Mrs. Charles Taylor, Keedysville; Mrs. Edward Scott, and Mrs. Lewis Shank, both of Williamsport; and Mrs. Clarence Coffman, Hagerstown; brothers, Russell, Downsville; Harry, Dam No. 4; Arthur, Tilghmanton; and Richard, Beaver Creek; nieces and nephews.


Services Saturday at 2 pm at Leaf Funeral Home, Williamsport with the Rev. John Rowsey officiating. Interment will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
