Mrs. Maude Viola Shipley, widow of Fern Shipley, died Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Melvin Messner, Thurmont Route 2, after a long illness.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by sons, Ralph, Boonsboro; Fern, Jr., Smithsburg; Charles, Thurmont Route 2; brothers, Russell Mellott, Williamsport; Harry Mellott, Dam No 4; Arthur Mellott, Fairlay; Richard Mellott, Beaver Creek; sisters, Mrs. Amos Shank, Smithsburg; Mrs. Charles Taylor, Downsville; Mrs. Edward Scott and Mrs. Louise Shank, both of Williamsport; Mrs. Clarence Cost, Hagerstown; Miss Phoebe Mellott, Boonsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Leaf Funeral Home by the Rev. Roland Reichard. Interment in Bakersville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday evening.
